Our story began over half a century ago in the Southwest of France when a young pharmacist, Pierre Fabre, driven by a passion for plants and his true belief in their benefit for health and beauty, created the Klorane brand in his pharmacy. The concept of Pure Botanical Care was born. Today, Klorane has become the #1 hair care brand in European pharmacies* and is dedicated to protecting both plant heritage and the environment. With every Klorane purchase, a portion of its sales goes to support activities of the Klorane Botanical Foundation and helps fund school gardens in the USA through the Budding Botanist Grant. In 2010, Klorane was awarded the Ecocert Environment ISO 26000 for making strides in quality and sustainable development. Our products are made using pure proven formulas with botanical ingredients. Only the purest plant extracts, sustainably grown by Klorane’s own farming partners for 100% traceability, are selected to target specific needs. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) can help the effectiveness of personal care products but is known to cause skin and scalp irritation. All of Klorane’s products are proudly SLS free. We are committed to exploring and experimenting with plant function in a way that is safe and non-intrusive to the environment. Our products offer a wide array of biodegradable products and eco-designed packaging created with a sustainable process and reliable results. Fully committed to protecting, researching and preserving the plant world, the Klorane Botanical Foundation works closely with the Pierre Fabre Botanical Conservatory. Located in the Southwest of France, the conservatory actively contributes to the knowledge of Pierre Fabre Laboratories and its researchers, making an excellent environment to conserve and promote plant species. We actively work to protect nature through the Klorane Botanical Foundation, our corporate foundation. Since 1994, the Klorane Botanical Foundation has been taking its commitment into the field with concrete efforts in three key concentrations: Protect, Explore and Educate.
